Oh do I know this one. Homesickness was very “dear” to me when I was a child. When I was flying as a youngster, my parents even had to come into the departures lounge because I’d not even left the country to return to school and I was an emotional mess.

Now, you can’t stop me from traveling for weekends, months or a year at a time. You too can be happy going back to school or away for extended periods of time. Time away from home, family and friends doesn’t have to fill you with dread, fear and panic.

There’s a simple homesickness busting technique that can help you.

What’s the technique?

It’s EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping).

No matter what your reasons for why you are homesick. EFT can help you. Oh and if you were homesick. The reasons why you were may very well still be affecting you today, so you also need to use EFT too.

Separation Anxiety

Even though my parents left me and I was all alone. I choose to deeply and completely love and accept myself and my life anyway.

Even though I thought my parents didn’t love me. I totally love, accept and forgive myself.

Even though I felt abandoned by my parents. I choose to forgive myself for holding onto this and I choose to forgive those others that may have contributed to this in any way, shape or form.

Even though I’m afraid to leave home for the first time and be without my parents. I don’t know why they are sending me away. I choose to remain calm and confident.
